I built this site because I couldn't find the resource I was looking for — a place to figure out what direct-to-consumer health tests actually exist, and whether they're worth it.
The direct-to-consumer health testing industry has grown fast. There are now hundreds of products — blood panels, hormone kits, gut microbiome tests, oral microbiome tests, biomarker memberships, wearables with integrated labs. The marketing is compelling. The science behind the products varies enormously. And the resources for making sense of it all are either overly clinical, suspiciously promotional, or just not very good.
I've been testing these products myself for years. I've tracked pricing changes, hidden fees, and the fine print that companies don't put in their ads.
Master Your Metrics is the resource I wanted. It puts all of these products in one place where you can learn what they are, compare them honestly, and decide what makes sense for your situation.
Many of the products we review are tested firsthand. Here's what I've run:
Products are independently researched. No press kits, no vendor-supplied screenshots, no free product in exchange for coverage.
Master Your Metrics has no sponsorships or paid placements. Some links are affiliate links that may earn us a commission; they never change scores or rankings. Products we think are overpriced or poorly designed get reviewed that way regardless. See our affiliate disclosure.
DTC testing pricing and product details change frequently, which is why we datestamp all pages. If you spot an error or a product has been updated since we reviewed it, use our contact form.
Nothing on this site is medical advice. We explain what tests are available and what they measure. Talk to a clinician for medical advice.
Master Your Metrics is not a medical practice, a lab, or a diagnostic service. We don't interpret your personal results. We don't take sponsorships, paid placements, free product, or equity from the companies we review. Some links are affiliate links; our affiliate disclosure explains how that works.
