How we score
Every MYM score is a weighted average of five dimensions. Each dimension score comes from recorded evidence and a fixed rule, so two products with the same evidence get the same score. Rubric version 2.0.

Ground rules
- Evidence first. We record what a product includes, then look the score up. We never type a dimension score by hand.
- Unverified counts as absent. If we can't confirm a feature on the company's own pages, in our own test, or in a dated third-party source, it scores as if it doesn't exist. We list it as pending.
- Conflicting sources get half credit, and we say which sources disagree.
- Ties stand. When the evidence ties, the scores tie, and we show both.
- Tested means we bought it and ran it. Researched means we scored it from the company's materials and third-party sources. No sponsorships.
- Scores move in half-point steps. The overall score is rounded to one decimal.
Depth (26%)
How much of the question the product can answer. For blood panels we count coverage of a 30-marker reference set: Standard lipid panel, ApoB, Lp(a), hs-CRP, Homocysteine, Fasting glucose, HbA1c, Fasting insulin, Uric acid, Kidney (creatinine, eGFR, BUN), Cystatin C, Liver enzymes (ALT, AST, ALP, GGT), CBC with differential, TSH, Free T4, Free T3, TPO antibodies, Total testosterone, Free testosterone, Estradiol, SHBG, FSH / LH, DHEA-S, Progesterone, Cortisol, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Folate, Ferritin + iron panel, Omega-3 index. Sex-specific or partial coverage counts as half.
Categories without a reference set yet use written anchors: 9.5 covers what a specialist would order for that question; 8.5 most of it; 7.5 the core with clear gaps; 6.5 one part of a multi-part question; 5.5 a single marker at a single point in time. Each category moves to a reference set as soon as two products in it are compared side by side.
Bands (markers covered): 28+ = 9.5, 26+ = 9.0, 24+ = 8.5, 21+ = 8.0, 18+ = 7.5, 15+ = 7.0, 12+ = 6.5, 9+ = 6.0, 6+ = 5.5; below 6 = 5.0.
Validity (22%)
Can you trust the number? The score starts from the lab or regulatory status and moves with the method.

Value (17%)
Price normalized to what you get, not sticker price. For blood panels: price divided by reference markers covered. Memberships use the annual price; panels include any required membership; à la carte uses the cost of buying each covered item once.
Bands (cost per marker): ≤$5 = 9.5, ≤$8 = 9.0, ≤$12 = 8.5, ≤$17 = 8.0, ≤$25 = 7.5, ≤$35 = 7.0, ≤$50 = 6.5; more = 6.0. Plus 0.5 if a retest draw is included.
For single-question tests: price compared with the cheapest credible alternative that answers the same question. No alternative = 7.0.

Friction from purchase to result. Starts at 6.0.

Freshness
Prices and plans change. Every product carries a "last verified" date, and we re-check anything older than 90 days.
